A one-act chamber opera revealing the fate of Shakespeare’s seminal character, Lady Macbeth, restoring to the stage that which the Bard chose to keep hidden: her last fraught hour in Dunsinane castle and the choice she had to make. Composed by Tomàs Peire-Serrate, text by Alejandra Villarreal Martinez, and story by Michelle Rice after William Shakespeare.
Premiered June 11, 2022, Schoenberg Hall, Los Angeles. Commissioned and produced by Seven Sisters Productions, with the generous assistance of the faculty and staff of the Herb Alpert School of Music and more than four dozen individual donors.
